  • Bacillus megaterium colonizes emerging roots and releases organic acids (citric/oxalic/malic/tartaric/gluconic) to dissolve fixed P while phosphatases/phytases mineralize organic pools. Siderophores and phytohormones (IAA, GAs, cytokinins) further enhance uptake and root branching. Integrated into INM, it commonly enables ~25% reduction in mineral P without yield penalty, raises chlorophyll and vigor, and improves soil aggregation and microbial activity via EPS/organic exudates. Use as carrier powder, soluble powder (10⁹–10¹⁰ CFU/g), or liquid (≈10⁸ CFU/mL) for seed, soil, root dip, drench, or fertigation; avoid pesticide tank mixes and chlorinated water; target planting and early vegetative stages or pre-flower P peaks.
