Bradyrhizobium Japonicum
Bradyrhizobium japonicum is a slow-growing, Gram-negative symbiont specialized for soybean (Glycine max). Flavonoid-Nod factor signaling enables root hair infection, infection threads, and nodule organogenesis. In nodules, bacteroids fix N₂ via nitrogenase under leghemoglobin-controlled microaerobiosis; NifA/NifL and O₂-sensing regulate energy-intensive fixation. Field performance commonly supplies 100–200 kg N/ha/season, improving yield, seed protein, and system sustainability while providing residual N to following crops. Use as seed treatments (carrier, soluble, liquid; sometimes film-coat compatible) applied close to sowing; protect from incompatible seed chemistries and high soil mineral N; favor neutral pH, adequate moisture, and warm soils for reliable nodulation.

Nitrogen Fixation
Converts atmospheric nitrogen into a usable form for the plant, reducing dependency on artificial nitrogenous fertilizersSustainable Agriculture
Contributes to healthier plant growth and sustainable agriculture by enriching the soil with essential nitrogenEco-friendly Soil Enrichment
Provides an eco-friendly alternative to chemical fertilizers, enhancing soil fertility and healthBradyrhizobium japonicum, a Gram-negative bacterium, enhances Nitrogen availability by fixing atmospheric nitrogen in symbiosis with legumes, particularly soybeans. This root nodule-residing bacterium creates specialized structures called nodules on legume roots, where it fixes nitrogen into a plant-usable form.
Applications
- Nitrogen fixation in symbiosis with leguminous plants
- Enhancement of soil fertility in agriculture
- Sustainable alternative to nitrogenous fertilizers
IndustriesBradyrhizobium Japonicum is predominantly utilized in the agriculture industry, specifically in the cultivation of leguminous crops like soybeans.
Application Method Recommended Dosage
Details
Recommended
Time to ApplyFrequency of Application
In-Furrow
500 g/10,000 sqm or ha
Apply directly into the seed furrow at planting. Ensure soil is moist for optimal microbial survival.
At the time of planting
Once per season (at planting)
Soil Treatment
500 g/10,000 sqm or ha
Broadcast evenly over the soil and incorporate lightly with tillage or apply through irrigation by mixing with sufficient water.
Pre-planting or early vegetative stage
Once per season; reapply only if nodulation is poor
Seed Treatment
100 g/10,000 sqm or ha (of seeds)
Coat seeds with inoculant using a sugar or gum arabic adhesive. Dry under shade before planting.
Just before planting. Ensure seeds are used within 24 hours after treatment.
Once per season (at planting)
Recommended for all Legumes such as Soybeans: Peas, Chickpeas, Lentils, Faba Beans, Alfalfa, Clover
It is recommended that users consult with a certified agricultural advisor or local extension authority to ensure proper application aligned with specific crop requirements, soil conditions, and environmental considerations.
