Paenibacillus Azotofixans
Free-living, endospore-forming diazotroph that fixes atmospheric N₂ into plant-available NH₄⁺ and boosts P solubilization, IAA/siderophore production, biofilm/EPS, ACC-deaminase–mediated stress tolerance, and biocontrol against soil pathogens. Ideal for INM and regenerative systems to reduce synthetic N.
To be used within 4 weeks. Available in 250 g and 10 L jugs.
Paenibacillus azotofixans is a Gram-positive, facultative anaerobe that fixes nitrogen in aerobic soils via respiratory protection of nitrogenase and multiple nif clusters (including alternative forms). Robust endospores support long shelf-life and field stability. As a multifunctional PGPR, it colonizes the rhizosphere, forms EPS-rich biofilms, solubilizes phosphate with organic acids and phosphatases, produces phytohormones (IAA, gibberellins, cytokinins), siderophores, and antimicrobial metabolites, and expresses ACC deaminase to temper stress ethylene. Documented outcomes include reduced mineral-N needs (often 25–40% in INM), improved nutrient uptake and root architecture, yield gains across cereals/vegetables/sugarcane, and enhanced soil structure/microbiome health. Apply via seed, soil drench, or fertigation using carrier, soluble, or liquid formats; avoid chlorinated water and co-tanking with pesticides; time applications to early establishment and moderate temperatures.
